Prize number 1 ...

was The much coveted Best Sandwich Award. Monkland Camembert, Watercress and David The Chef's very own special Apple Jelly (which he made from apples scrumped from Pete's garden! Sorry Pete!) all presented in Price's Sourdough Bread. Altogether a wonderful combination according to the food editor of Olive Magazine!

Prize number 2 ...

was The Marches Meat Pie. Scooby Duck & Damson Pie. Scooby bless his heart brought David some wild duck, which he put in a pie of hot water crust pastry with some damsons that Mick brought up from his garden. It all came together is this wonderful pie which really knocked the judges socks off!

Prize number 3 ...

was The Festival Loaf. Wholemeal Sourdough. This loaf was lucky to arrive at the judging pavilion on time, David cut this very fine. Judging was at 11am and by 10.45am the loaf hadn't come out of the oven. At 10.55am Yvonne put her best running shoes on and ran hot foot up to the judges with the loaf piping hot from the oven. She did a grand job and David received runner up for this culinary masterpiece, even if he did leave it to the last minute - literally!
